I watched the show, and it reminded me of a few bookstore owners I've come across. The kind described in Good Omens, who considers customers a nuisance and tends to shut their store on a whim because they can.

The mystery to me is how they maintain their business open, but I figure that either they don't really need the money income all that much, or they're the first bookstores to close.

Or they do enough business with their regular customers who are pretty much like them and spend hours (and hundreds of Euros) in their stores.
