Is Blue Exorcist worth it? The premise certainly sounds cool. (I've heard it's monthly, but paced more like a weekly, which sounds like the sort of thing where I'd wait and do an archive binge.)

I'm enjoying it. I started reading the manga after watching the anime when it aired a few years back, the show was solid but in the usual fashion diverges from the manga in bad ways about halfway through. I personally find the cast very likeable (in particular I really like Rin, and I'm usually fairly lukewarm when it comes to shounen manga protagonists). It is a monthly series and I like it better this way because I think it does hold up better than if it was a weekly -- sometimes the battles stretch but so far I think it's done a decent job at keeping its focus on the leads rather than scattering a million battles all over the landscape the way something like Bleach tends to do. I'd say the pacing is probably fairly similar to Soul Eater's, if you've read that. There have been a couple arcs I wasn't fond of but it tends to pick itself up pretty well.
