3. P/E dominates the fandom, pretty much. Only one look at the PW kink meme could tell you that XD There are a lot of shippers that don't ship them, and some that ship them plus other things (I myself ship... uh, pretty much anything XDDD). So, you can come play in the sandbox without worrying about being looked down on. REALLY, WE'RE VERY NICE. I PROMISE. It's the most tolerant, friendly fandom I've ever been in!!

7. Uh... crackpairings = love! I ship Nick/Polly (and Polly/Nick), and my Polly has a headcanon that is awesome. The game may change some things, but I'm sure that if/when/cake that happens you'll be able to work around it, and build up your headcanon to work with realcanon. ♥

P/E really is the most popular pairing *dies* I think a lot of people get into it at first, then they migrate to other pairings. but since those two dominate a lot of the first games, they're gonna be everywhere. But that doesn't mean that everyone else can't have a shot at their otp! I WROTE EDGEWORTH/BELLBOY FOR THAT KINK MEME. It was good times XD

That's what I did! I'm a bit sick of it now, and after game three I went off it. And sort of went over to kind of weird pairings XD;;; Omg, I read that one, it was awesome. THE KINK MEME BRINGS OUT THE BEST IN US ALL!

P/E still is one of my OTPs. They just work so well together. I know that people get tired of seeing it, or that they get mad that we apparently can't have two men as friends without them doing each other. blah blah argument argument.

Fact of the matter is that awoeirjalewr I LIKE THE PAIRING. Along with a million others that I discovered after I joined fandom.

Do I ever have points in these things that have to do with the original comment?

Oh, I like it still. Just, you know, after a while you've seen all there is to see, and a couple things in games 2 and 3 kind of made it less viable for me. But come on, it's P/E, you never really 'grow out of it' for real. XD

No, there is definitely a bitter undercurrent towards P/E shippers. FS is proof enough of that.

FS is the only place we've ever had PW wank. Go look at the main comm for the fandom. There is nothing but happiness and sparkles for everyone. We even, not too terribly long ago, had a huge discussion about what pairings everyone like, and some people said non P/E, and some people said P/E, and there was no wank to be had.

The wank is really only here. If you've only seen FS and not ventured into at least looking at the fandom itself, of course you're going to have a negative feeling from it. But trust me, we all love each other, even if we don't agree with each other's OTPs.

EDIT: And to clarify, as far as I remember, those other PW secrets that may have been bashing on P/E were also people who sounded like they hadn't ventured into the sandbox either.

You remembered wrong. Most of the people bashing P/E here are active in the fandom. They come here because the fandom is supposedly so "nice" and they don't feel comfortable saying it in public. PW fandom likes to pride itself on being nicer than it actually is.

While I agree that yes, the community over here is amazing, and most of them are in fact; the same can't be said for court records, sadly. I mean, it's still SO much better than a lot of fandoms! But there is some unpleasantness as well. D= Sad, really.

Ah, explains it. A lot less mature; a while ago I saw a few people going 'OMG I CANT BELEEV PPL SHIP P/E, THEY RNT GHEY THTS DISGUSTIN P/M AND P/I 4EVA'

...OK, not that bad. I just like mocking chatspeak. But there are a couple people with that general attitude, I fear, over there, and it's sad. And the place has been a little intimidating to me as well, but there are some awesome people as well. Don't let it get you down! =D

I'm in the fandom. I don't think you realize that what you see in FS is reflected in the larger fandom. People just aren't open about it because they want to be "nice". Meaning, they want to be liked.

Still... Even if they're keeping their opinion to themselves just to be liked... Isn't that, like... the definition of being polite?

PW is still one of the kindest, most mature, and most polite fandoms I've seen around. Even if there is a P/E shipper hate undercurrent, as long as it's stuffed under the rug, it's just people trying to be polite. That shouldn't be a problem, should it?

It shouldn't be, but that undercurrent is uncomfortable to be around. Being truly polite is realizing that even if the overabundance of something is annoying, other people should be able to enjoy themselves and reacting accordingly. Not jabbing at them quietly through FS and subtle reminders about other pairings needing love.

Wow there's some paranoia and too much caring what other folks think going on here, isn't there, don'tcha think?

PW is my *only* active fandom (although I do read some stuff in a few others and stuff by a few selected writers who I know). I probably hang out or lurk at most of the communities and I chat to random people in email and in IM most every day about a variety of stuff including pairings, plot points and fuck knows what else.

I am a P/E writer and I laugh quite often with tellezara about the fact that for both of us it's the first time an dthe first fandom that we've ever had an OTP for. Heck, I didn't even know what an "OTP" *was* until August last year.

Have I ever had anyone harass me, bitch at me, give me shit or be "passive aggressive" at me over it? I don't think so. If I have, they were DOING IT WRONG because I didn't notice. Do some people dislike P/E - yeah, sure, it's their right to do so. I dislike a few pairings myself, who doesn't? But I wouldn't take my ball home over it unless someone is being an arse about how the express themselves.

Truly, this *is* a very friendly fandom, when I compare notes with friends in many, many other fandoms. So little wank by most standards, except for yeah, here, and one or two other places.

Are there dramas behind the scenes? Fuck yes, but actually, I haven't encountered any that were to do with ships. Go figure. And the most behind the scenes wank I have heard of has *been* from P/E shippers and been pretty fucking mild, frankly. Hahahah.

I think there's a danger here of creating drama where there is none and that's a shame. Maybe I just have a thick skin, or maybe it's because I'm an aging bastard with a streak of snark a mile wide that says I've seen it all before and just don't take random shit personally. I dunno. But I stand by my opinion that it's a friendly fandom and that if there are "deadly undercurrents" then I think they may be confined to a very small piece of water that isn't lapping on my beaches.

There's also the fact of course that I don't remember the last time I wasted any concern on people being bitchy behind closed doors anywhere. Mostly I think it's a) human nature and b) funny. Oscar Wilde had it right.
