25. Uh, hi, Kingdom Hearts is racist. :shrugs: Obvious.

... so is Tale Of The Abyss, every Final Fantasy game except maybe FF7, Silent Hill, Soul Caliber, Portal, Devil May Cry, Bioshock, Bloody roar....

Not having non-white or japanese characters =/= rascism.

Now if "the boy Thursday" (http://www.tightrope.cc/imagefiles/thursday.jpg) were featured in a KH game, you'd totally have an argument. In fact, Pocohontas herself is actually pretty much Rascist, or at least a caucasian-izing of the original Pocohontas.

Or Fantasia's Sunflower. Disney doesn't want to make the same mistake it did years ago nad have it get out, not with Frog Princess coming out now. But you know what they say about those who forget the past...

There is no one of color in the games. It's like racial cleansing went down in the Squenix universe.

And I'm not protesting it. I think it's a fact of life when it comes to JRPGs.

... n... no. You're just. No. The LACK of non-whites/japanese in the games =/= rascism, do you get this? Not every-fucking-thing in life NEEDS to be multi racial.

Besides, if we're talking about our white-ppl-sensibilities, don't Japanese count? LOL Plus in fantasy videogames you're looking at races not of earth so technichally hi, multiracial XD

Okay.

I'm not going to get into a figth about this. I see your point and acknowledge it, but I still have my opinions on it.

Barret in FF7 is black. That's the only RPG I've played, so I don't know if there are more.

These games are made in Japan, though, which has an almost non-existent black population and a well-documented history of portraying black people in "sambo" like ways. I'm not saying it's good that Squeenix hasn't included many non-Japanese characters, but given their culture, I think it's at least easy to see why there aren't more.

Also, I think that people from Western countries need to realize the differences between their cultures and others a little more. Japan is not diverse the way the Americas or certain European countries are.

Seems to me that you're the only person offended by the 'lack of nonwhites' in videogames.

I'm really not. Videogames aren't a serious aspect of culture to me (and that is me, no one else), so I tend to focus on the prejudices in other media instead.

But if it's any consolation to you, I don't plan on presenting my opinion on this again since it was met with such hostility and unpopularity. :shrugs:

:shrugs: If you play JRPGs, you don't see black people or people of an race, really. That's just the way Japanese games work. I don't think it's right, but there's nothing to be done about it.
