I’m really tired of the fandom’s obsession with the “Chrom, Robin, Lucina, and Morgan” family

It’s like a black hole that fanartists and writers get sucked into.

Milking the angst and drama for notes/reblogs/FEELS, all while calling it the “most perfect family ever”

This is one of those things were I quietly await the day where people look back on this crazy investment into their fictional self-insert family with embarassment

Someone sounds bitter that their respective favorite spouse doesn't get the attention instead.

From what I've seen, they call it "perfect" because it hits their needs and wants.

Haha I think I understand you on the self-insert embarrassment thing. At least I can avoid most of it on pixiv and just look up the character tags I'm interested in, because holy nope that specific group of characters together does nothing for me. I haven't even played it yet though (it sits on my shelf watching me play other games. waiting. learning.), but I'm betting I'm still going to feel the same once I do.

What are the popular ships in this fandom? I think the problem might be there are so many different pair up options and Robin/Chrom is pretty much the default. I remember my Robin got paired with him on my first play through by accident.

I had to work so hard NOT marrying Chrom on my first play through. I thought I'd be into him but I wasn't and I resented the game pushing us together.

Chrom/Robin is good from a fighting stats point of view, but I've still not married him on any playthrough (yet).

Same. I ship it, but I wish Lucina got more attention as her own character rather than "omg my perfect daughterrrr". People tend to be really over the top with the hate for this pairing's fans, especially Sumia stans who blame every criticism of Sumia on the dread "Chrombin" shippers, so I don't want to add to it but... sometimes it's a little much, especially when their ending isn't even sad.
