Best thing you've found through FS

What is something you've found through this community?

A secret inspiring you to watch a new show?

Someone recommending a great fan fiction?

New websites?

I think Dragon Age: Origins, but it was a while back obviously.

I honestly can't remember if it was FS or livejournal friends that finally convinced me to give Doctor Who a try. I do remember seeing all the DW secrets and thinking the show looked cool.

LJ was definitely behind me starting Doctor Who as well. At the time all I knew was it was a time-traveling scifi, a girl named Rose was apparently terrible, and a woman named Donna was apparently awesome.

As a lot more people had icon of Martha vs Donna at the time, I assumed Martha was Donna.

Ha. All my LJ friends at the time were super Doctor/Rose shippers, and all their posts on the show were about shipping. I saw more varied stuff at FS, but I assumed going in my preferences were going to be the same as my friends. Except, turns out not.

I honestly had no idea where I saw it since I was mostly in ATLA communities at the time. It was kind of hilarious though because I was bracing myself to suffer through the first couple seasons of annoying companion to eventually get to the awesome companion, and then I ended up falling in love with Rose by the end of the first episode.

...and then Doomsday happened and it wasn't hilarious anymore.

I was like "You never heard of Friends? That was a really popular show."

But your answer makes more sense.

All the recs from all over time and medium. Transformers for a recent one, since that got me into cartoons, comics, and hell am I mighty interested in third party toys as a toy fan.

Whenever science talks happen, it inspires me to get off my ass to go read anywhere about whatever was talked about, even if I may not entirely understand it anyways.

Zombies Run! the really cool running app, because people recced it and made secrets about it. Pretty gimmicky, but it's like a podcast you can get totally into the mood for while running. Ofc, it's not so immersive when you use it on a winter day that does not align with the world BUT THAT'S OKAY.

Most wonderful thing I've found on F!Sthough?

friends.

I didn't fell in love with some things that were recced to me here but the 'campy tv' recs from a few days back have been awesome so far.
Perhaps FS affected my subconscious mind somehow and made me watch some things, idk.

Demon Knights; Soon I Will Be Invincible

Noodly had posted a page from DK quite a while ago, and I liked it so much I hunted down back issues and then bought every new issue (until it was cancelled).

I just started reading the latter, and love it so far.
