I would ship Youko/Rakushun SO HARD but I find it difficult to get past him being a mouse. If he mostly stayed human it would be one thing, but I get a little squicked :(

Keiki is like a scraggly horse though, and that doesn't seem to stop fandom from mostly shipping them. :( (yeah, Rakushun being a mouse is weird, but he's really cute in his human form!)

Well I don't properly ship Keiki/Youko either, but Keiki spends far more time as a human than as a horse, that we see on screen at least. Also his first appearance for a long while is in his human form. Rakushun makes a point about being able to freely live in his mouse-form, so his mouse-identity is far more clear in my mind...
Obviously you're right from a logical perspective.
Ugh I struggle with this so much anon I swear, bc I really love the Youko/Rakushun dynamic.
