In my experience, this is one the most loving fandoms around. Characters may get mocked for certain traits, but to me it mostly seems to be done out of love; some people may actually dislike a character here or there, but the overall fandom consensus tends towards love for pretty much everyone. About the only characters I see a lot of fandom gets down on are Keffer and Byron and even then a lot of it's kind of tongue in cheek. Back in the day Lockley was a somewhat acceptable target, but doesn't seem to be anymore.

But I worry that the reboot may be the thing that breaks this fandom love fest. I see most people being optimistic about it though, because as a group I think we love JMS's world too much to doubt him too hard; even if personally I have my doubts whether B5 can work as a movie (but I know myself well enough to know that come hell or high water or attack by the First Ones, I'll be there opening day if it happens).
