Did you have a place in mind?
(Anonymous) 2015-01-23 03:45 am (UTC)(link)Places could be somewhere on the Sunshine Coast, Squamish, Harrison Hotsprings, Whistler (if they're fucking rich and have a time share), West Van (again: damn fucking rich), Vancouver Island or one of the smaller islands in the area. Haida Gwaii is pretty popular for people who like really outdoorsy things, and there are a few places you can only reach by private boat, kayak.
Tofino is a big surfer destination on the Island, though most of that town is resort, if you don't already live there.
Some people go to the interior, which is north and east a bit. Say, the Okanagan Valley (esp Kelowna, Penticton) which I've heard called the Napa Valley of BC. They do have some great apples and wines coming outta there.
Basically, search tourist spots, and if it's in the mountains or north of Van (in the lower mainland), or not Victoria (on the Island), it's likely a cabin spot. Even Nanaimo, and there's hardly anything besides retirees, out there.
There are a couple tiny islands you can see from the highway up to Whistler with just a single house with a dock and hill behind it. Literally, just a spit of land sticking up outta the water.
What do you want them doing? How much access do they have to a grocery store? Do they like boating/kayaking?
