I can't get over the fact that "no" was translated as "on" instead of "of."

It should be Attack of the Titan (which makes so much more goddamn sense), not Attack on Titan.

Holy shit, I had no idea (m Japanese is pretty much non-existent). That's a terrible translation error.

I recall reading somewhere that "Attack on Titan" was in fact chosen by the author himself, even though it's not a proper translation of the original title (a more direct translation would actually be more something along the lines of "Advance of the Giants").

Bu...but why? Why would he choose that? It doesn't even make sense. I thought the show was about an attack on a place called Titan when everyone was talking about it and before I had seen the Japanese.

It could have been worse. I still remember that one subgroup who tried to push "The Eotena Onslaught" as an alternative title... I'll take the mistranslation over that any day.
