Re: Attack on Titan

I think it's great, and that a lot of the backlash is due to it being popular.

To me, I like the:

-Animation
-Frightening, anyone-can-die plot. To me, the titans are legitimately terrifying and that seems to be the overall consensus
-AMAZING female representation (half the characters are women, none of them are sexualized, they're pretty much all titan-killing warriors same as the guys... I'm not sure how many anime/manga are as feminist in female representation as this show)
-Plot - I think, for the most part, it's a very intentional plot, though it's long and there's not an end in sight yet. To me, it feels like the author has known what he's wanted to do from the start and I appreciate that, even if it's getting pretty complex
-Awesome soundtrack

I'd also say watch a few episodes and decide for yourself. The first episode is a bit expositiony, though does get exciting, then things calm down for an episode or two before things go nuts again. If you're going to do it I'd say at least watch five or six episodes before you decide because iirc that's when the drama has started up properly?
