I think the point is that the man doesn't think about the woman at all. he lives in a world where women are conditioned to move aside for him so he never has to think about what would happen if the woman didn't move.

I don't agree. At all. but this woud be the idea, I think.

Could you not say that the woman is conditioned to automatically think men will move aside for her, and they're still both wrong?

How would anyone know the man didn't believe he had to move for women that unless they could read his thoughts? He could just be distracted.
