I just feel like each time people in this fandom try to have a regular well-rounded conversation about things they didn't like something happens half-way and suddenly everyone's screaming, accusations are thrown left and right, character's are assassinated like it's a party in Tevinter just to make a point no one's quite clear on anyway.

And this is why my only participation is occasionally posting a screencap or two and reblogging pretty pictures. I mean, I'd love to talk about Dragon Age, but no way in Hell I'm touching that fandom with a ten-foot pole.

Haha, this is how I feel too. It's a shame because I love the game so much, and I write fic so I'd like to participate enough to draw attention to it, but I'd rather keep my life drama free.

I've had some nice discussions on f!s, though. And I really enjoy the Kink Meme over on Livejournal. The mod makes sure that place stays entirely wank free.

I frequent the kink meme as well. It's an interesting place with occasionally interesting ideas, but not much discussion. Well, at least no one's judging my ships there (or if they are, not voicing it out loud).

F!S usually is up bit too late for me, living in Eastern Europe. But luckily I have few friends I can discuss stuff with. I just fear I sometimes might bore them. Boredom's better than wank, though.

Really? I always had the impression that the kink-meme mod encouraged this whole "overly sensitive snowflake" attitude the fandom has. Like, (at least when I went there a while back) any and all criticism, may it be as constructive as it could be, was forbidden, even if the author explicitely asked for it. And what counts as character bashing on there is really, really OTT.
