Keller is awesome. Rodney/Keller is awesome, and I say this as someone who writes and reads a lot of McShep.

Most of the objections to Keller and Rodney/Keller don't make any logical sense and boil down to female character getting in the way of the noncanonical slash ship.

I don't know if I would jump to the conclusion that it's all slash fans and Sheppard/Mckay shippers who disliked Keller and McKay/Keller because I never shipped the boys at all and I still disliked the second pairing and Keller.

Sometimes people just don't like what you like. Sometimes people do not like characters. Sometimes people do not like ships and it has nothing to do with what they do ship (I don't really ship Mckay with anyone in truth, so it was never about Keller getting in the way of anything.)

Oh, absolutely. All? 100%? No. I would never make such a claim.

However, SGA was my primary fandom for years and *most* (not all) of the Keller hate came from McShep fans who hated her for derailing the pairing.

I even wrote a really long meta post debunking many of the objections that frequently were brought up because it just made no sense to me and still doesn't.

If you were on LJ? Sure, maybe. But I was on Gateworld which has very few McShep shippers, and I can tell you that there was a whole lot of hate there that had absolutely nothing to do with McShep.

I imagine those objections were along the lines of her being a Mary Sue or too badass? Something like that? We got the same kind of ridiculous objections in the McShep corner as well.

I think you're mistaking me for a Keller fan - sorry. I didn't hate her like a lot of people did, but neither was I of the position that all of the complaints about her were unjustified. I'm just saying that blaming McShep shippers (of which I am not one) for the hate seems a little unfair, because there was just as much hate in non-McShep fandom spaces that I was in.

Not the only one. Teyla/Keller is my favorite Keller ship and my second favorite Teyla ship, after Teyla/Elizabeth.
