Re: Good news thread!
Basically, don't do something stupid like vacuum up water softener salt in the garage because you don't want your mom's freshly washed car driving on top of it. (The water softener had broke and spewed out road salt into the garage)...
The good news it that the vacuum did it's job! Bad news it got clogged. Good news is that I e-mailed the company asking for help and they directed me to a local repair shop. Good news it that since the salt wasn't wet it didn't damage the motor so it should cost about $100 to repair. Which actually I am fine with and I get to pick up a working vacuum today!
Oh it is a Dyson DC17 something or whatever that works and I am happy with and don't have to mess with bags. Except you do have to deal with the dust that flies out when you empty the stuff into the bin. Small price to pay.

And sadly no. I need to get a small vacuum because I only have one tiny rug to clean.
