Good news thread!
What is something good that has happened to you lately?
Re: Good news thread!
Good news? Dunno that I have any. Got through another week at work. Just finished a delicious dinner.
Oh! I got a comment on the fic I'm writing that I expected everybody to ignore. That comment made my day.
Re: Good news thread!
And getting a comment (I assume good) is always great. Especially when it is something you thought would be ignored.

My local Borders called me yesterday and told me that the book I ordered about three months ago just arrived. It took so long arriving that I'd totally forgotten I'd ordered it and it wasn't until I heard 'Your order of The Compleat Ankh-Morpork by Terry Pratchett has just arrived ...' did I remember. I'm so happy, I've been looking for this book for two years, totally worth the wait. Can't wait to pick it up!

Re: Good news thread!
I was almost not okay to drive home afterwards because I was so tired and weak and cold that I couldn't stop shaking and was incredibly dizzy, I even had to pull over to the side of the business loop and just sit there for awhile with my eyes closed to regroup before I made it, and I spent much of the rest of the day lying in bed trying to recover, but hoooooooly crap some of the photos we got made it worth it. :D
Also have discovered that I really, really like fresh orange juice, when I never cared for orange juice before. Apparently when it's fresh squeezed it's awesome! Just bought some fresh pineapple to try that, and because I already DO like pineapple juice, I am looking forward to seeing if it's basically orgasmic when fresh or what.
Re: Good news thread!
Glad you were able to get your photoshoot done even thought you were sick as hell.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-24 02:26 am (UTC)(link)One word of advice - don't let random people (including family) tell you 'birth' stories. Most of them, for so fucked up reason, want to tell really horrible ones about how they were in labor for five days and almost died or whatever. It's...bizarre.
And, just to offset that - I was in labor for about six hours and had mine at home, no drugs. So don't believe the horror hype!
(Tabaqui - my hd is toast, i'm on a borrowed tablet.)

The rest of the day was unremarkable. I cleaned the bathrooms, and picked up around the living room for purposes of playing games.

I'm actually kind of excited, and for the past two or three years, I've mostly tried to pretend my birthday doesn't exist.

Basically, don't do something stupid like vacuum up water softener salt in the garage because you don't want your mom's freshly washed car driving on top of it. (The water softener had broke and spewed out road salt into the garage)...
The good news it that the vacuum did it's job! Bad news it got clogged. Good news is that I e-mailed the company asking for help and they directed me to a local repair shop. Good news it that since the salt wasn't wet it didn't damage the motor so it should cost about $100 to repair. Which actually I am fine with and I get to pick up a working vacuum today!
Oh it is a Dyson DC17 something or whatever that works and I am happy with and don't have to mess with bags. Except you do have to deal with the dust that flies out when you empty the stuff into the bin. Small price to pay.
Have you figured out your vacuum situation?
