I wish I'd cry less. I'm not particularly sentimental, though I'll tear up at a moving film or whatever... but I also struggle with depression and approximately zero self confidence. Any sort of confrontation, even if it's not negative, can leave me on the verge of tears. I hate it, so much, in my head I think of myself as a pretty down-to-earth person, but when the anxiety comes (and it'll come out of nothing), the tears come too.

I wish I could... not. I can't even meet a professor alone without that ball in my gut and my throat going dry. My voice was cracking and I had to book it out of there just because my professor was giving me (great, well-needed and appreciated) constructive criticism about my research proposal. He was perfectly friendly and pleasant. I think I should like, chug a glass of wine or something to relax before I have to go through confrontation of any sort, because embarrassment over feeling like crying just makes it harder to get a grip.
