Re: Weepy stats
I try not to cry in front of other people (unless we're watching something together in which case, whatever, it's basically a lost cause and trying to stop it just leads to further embarrassment), and if I'm in a situation in public where I feel I'm about to cry I try to control it or take myself out of it. That doesn't happen often, but I don't want to start because I have trouble stopping.
But I've always felt odd to be like this, because my dad is a damn rock and almost nothing can bring him to tears. I think I've seen him cry about five times in my life (once was during LOTR, which cracks me up) so I always feel overemotional.
Over 20, female, since you shared.

I don't know that book (it's a Canadian picture book?) but I can see why he stopped. It would be hella distracting to listen to someone read through their tears. (Good thing I never plan on having kids because I would be the same.)

Re: Weepy stats
I don't mind crying because of media, but because of real life? I'd rather not, haha. (Not that any of us have much choice in the matter. Unfortunately. We should all have switches.)
Re: Weepy stats
(Anonymous) 2015-01-26 01:08 am (UTC)(link)That's how I watch media: there are almost always tears involved.
Did you cry at these commercials? I bawled. At the library (long story, media-related project.)

Re: Weepy stats
I hadn't seen a one of these, and I cried through every one. At first I thought I was going to make it through the second one without tears, but nope. The first two are absolutely beautiful film making. I've seen movies less engaging and emotional than those commercials.
That's almost cheating, anon!

(Anonymous) 2015-01-26 03:36 am (UTC)(link)If you've never seen this one, you clearly need to. Happy crying.

Re: Weepy stats
But yes, I admit that my heart wanted to burst out of my chest while watching that. There were tears, and smiles! Geez, how many more commercials like these are there? (I sort of want more.)

*bawls*
Yep, that does it for me.
