Er... pretty sure the "pattern" is there because it usually happens in predictable patterns in this condition, as opposed to baldness that's caused by chemo, stress, nutritional deficiencies and other health issues, etc. Women have "female pattern baldness". It usually presents slightly differently than it does in men.
