At the same time, I do like where the show left off so things could be worse! I'm glad we got a second series. Kieren (and everyone else, except Gary. Fuck Gary) grew a lot in season two and while he had lost a lot, he was filled with a bit of hope and acceptance that didn't exist after series one.
NGL, a part of me thinks maybe this is best for Kieren as a character. While I want a series 3 I just know if it happened someone else he loved would be on the chopping block. (Stay the fuck away from Simon; NOT TWICE, SHOW! His family is too precious, too.)

(Anonymous) 2015-01-27 01:36 am (UTC)(link)My heart is broken, but I'll go on. Because I loved the end. Even if I died when Amy...died. It was a beautiful, beautiful end. If it has to be the end.

And that's another thing that sort of makes me think, "While this show deserves another season, maybe it would be okay to leave things as is." I enjoy headcanoning that Amy comes back one day, and that Kieren and Simon eventually move in together and are happy, and that Philip's mom and the doctor get together, and Jem works through her PTSD and Kieren's dad simmers down and goes back to being obsessed with Blu-Rays. The characters are so excellent, and they deserve to be happy. This show is very much NOT happy, and while it's a brilliant ride, I almost would hate for the characters to have to suffer more.

Though as far as things go it's left in an okay place for most of the characters, I mean it's a vaguely happy-ish ending! Plus this means I can headcanon that Amy comes back because of weird shenanigans going on with her anyway(sshhhh, sssshhh, being stabbed in the heart means nothing, they're zombies~).
