because rapists are below subhuman scum in my eyes and i feel gross even considering them people

I agree that all rapists should be destroyed, but it's an important point of principle that they are human beings, because otherwise it's harder to recognize people who are rapists.

But they are. This isn't to stand up for them by any means, but when you start thinking of rapists are not human, it's the beginning of denial that humans are capable of acts like this. Denial feels more comfortable, but it's not the truth.

This. Humans do monstrous things, but to dehumanize them is to make them a "special category" and they're not. Sadl the could be our uncle, or our teacher, or the dude who works at the supermarket.

Except they're not. Especially with the broader definitions of rape.

Rape is something a person can talk themselves into, or fail to talk themselves out of.
