Re: Firefox advice?

No advice, sadly, but you're definitely not alone.

I've had problems with Firefox ever since their last big interface update last year (around May IIRC? So could be around the time of your last update?). Very slow, very buggy, numerous flash crashes and problems and countless script errors. I've been using Firefox for years, and never had those problems before. Nothing else on my system changed, so it was definitely a Firefox problem.

One word of caution though - I was very tempted to either uninstall or reset the browser to see if that might help, until my brother tried that and ended up having the reformat his entire laptop because in deleting/clearing Firefox, it somehow managed to delete some of the computer's internet connectivity settings too.

Uh, well thanks for the heads up. Won't be doing that then.

Reformatting the hard disk is a Defcon One level last resort in case of major virus infestation or missing/corrupted Windows system files, so unless a virus caught through Firefox was causing the connectivity issue, that was probably super unnecessary.
