I'm in my early 40s and I can tell you that feeling only gets worse as you get older.

I feel similarly. I'm only 26, so not "old" by any means, but apart from making better/more mature decisions I don't feel any different than I did at 16-18 years old. Everything about my personality that makes me "me" is essentially the same.
