I follow a couple people who are way into DA. Based on what I have seen from them, the DA fandom is just full of drama. They have completely turned off any interest I have for the game.

The games are great- play the game, ignore the fandom!

Yes, this. There might be a lot of drama but I only know about it from this community, and I follow some DA fans on tumblr. You don't even have to make an effort not to run into it, in my opinion.

Same here. I'd maybe put aside the dislike I have for fantasy worlds to try it out, but the fandom is so horrible, so nope.

There are a lot of amazing people in the fandom too. I don't find it too hard personally to avoid the drama. Honestly, I've come across way more of it in F!S than actually on Tumblr itself.

I think the best course of action is not watching the general tags, but searching for a few fandom blogs that reblog a lot of things that are relevant to your interests and watching them, then filtering out what you don't like with xkit. It's the way I keep navigating fandoms with lots of wank.
