It's mostly a backlash against the fandom. People who just casually disliked it went to hating it because so many fans run around trying to shove it down people's throats. Annnnd believe that they're really super smart for watching it.

It's like some of the old Lost fandom. These people would run into other fandoms and call everyone "idiots" and talk about how much better their show was and how much smarter they were than the average TV viewer because "Lost is for INTELLIGENT people, unlike YOUR show!" And then they wondered why folks got turned off.

Hating something because of its fans is pants on head retarded and pretty immature.

You missed the part where I said it's people who already disliked the show anyway.

DA

A lot of the backlash against the fandom came as a result of S3. The reason it was/is/will always be so very very very terrible, is because they pandered 100% to the shrillest minority in the fandom...who very shrilly praised them for it, after the fact. The rest of the fandom just went, "Feh." and turned it off. A few people posted on Tumblr that they didn't think it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and, yep: DOGPILED. Or unfollowed/ostracized/etc.
