I hear you, OP. I honestly have no problem if the person is under (or over) a certain age, but if they staple their hand to their forehead about turning TWENTY FIVE OMG I'M SO OOOOOOOOLD then yeah, I'm not on.

Part of it is what you say, but part of it is (me taking advantage of anon) me being sort of self conscious. I'm 40 and I have fannish interests, and someone screaming that 25 is 'too old' makes me feel like there's something wrong with me for being into my fandoms.
