Read Injustice. Most Fun Dc has ever let itself have in years.

Why yes this is Alfred Pennyworth headbutting Superman.

God Injustice is terrible. Sometimes I wonder if the writers are just trolling.

Don't you see? That's exactly what they are doing! And it's wonderful!

(Anonymous) 2015-01-29 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a problem when the trolling looks more or less like the nontrolling comics.

I admit it, Noodles, you've interested me purely because I think Alfred is awesome. Tell me he gets to be badass even more.

Beating up Superman is a stupid as hell way to make Alfred awesome though.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-29 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Or is that Bruce? Nevermind.

Man, you could have Alfred fighting Crazy Quilt or Condiment King and I'd be there for it.

It's kinda a one shining moment thing but there's more to this scene and he doesn't stop being awesome afterwards. And the comic is an AU where they just said "Fuck it, all bets are off." it's the prequel to the video game but it's done so well it's still going all this time after the video game's release. It's definitely worth a look (you don't have to play the game as long as you understand it's a "one universe over" sort of thing at the start)

Hmmm. Does Alfred play a major role in it in general? Who's the main cast?

It's a world-spanning event. I take it you don't know the video game plot?

Quick version (SPOILER ALERT!):

Joker decided to switch protagonists for a bit. He ended up with a pretty good idea!

Supes? Kinda... snapped.

It all starts to go downhill from there. Slippery slope and all.

Yep that's Lex to his left.

Also new ships

Oh, so, it's basically 'Irredeemable,' DC version.

Sorry, I don't think that'd appeal to me. Thanks for telling me about it though!

I think it tries to have more fun with the whole idea then Irredeemable ever did, but it's not the worst analogy.

Just have a glorious depiction of the butlering then (With /co/ reactions) HUGE PICTURE and spoilers INCOMING

Context: Superman had Lex made a pill that turns his soldiers into superhumans themselves. Of course, Batman stole the prototype. Superman punched his way into the batcave and broke Batman's back. And then came what we affectionately dubbed "The butlering." (readable images in center)

Also, in the latest issue, we discovered Mxyzptlk is involved and may have circumvented the Spectre. It was a pretty good "aw shit" moment.

That would not be hard. The only thing I found even less fun than Irredeemable was the other one, which had the reformed supervillain actually un-ironically going by Max Power.

And aw, Noods, you're the best. Letting me enjoy Alfred without having to slog through all that. Because yeah, the rest of it is DEFINITELY not my thing.
