Made this thread because my town is experiencing ROACHAGEDDON. Go outside, they crawl over your feet, you step on them every few metres. They're getting inside too, and they're huge.

I swear I've killed the same giant cockroach five times.
I can hear them at night because we have hardwood floors, and they make this scuttling sound.

I hate summer.

Maybe if you stop killing them they'll decide they like you and save you from being illegally evicted and help you with your relationship problems and stuff.

We had the same roach population surge a few years ago and I lived in a shittier building.

They were crawling over me in my sleep.

Peace was never an option.

Do they sell roach chalk where you are? The stuff is a miracle worker. Put it around your door frame and along the wall and the roaches won't cross. Not sure they carry it in the US, though.

I'm in Australia and I've never seen it. We have ant sand, and we have barrier spray which clearly does jack shit.

I don't know then. Those roach motels sort of work, but at least in the Philippines roach chalk was the best way to keep them out of your house. Of course, the stuff is super, super toxic so you have to be careful not to touch it in any way. We also had our apartment sprayed every six months by an exterminator.

Sprinkling diatomaceous earth around is supposed to help discourage roaches, though I guess it's not so good for eradicating them entirely (sounds like that would be a tall order all around in your situation, though.)

I remember the giant cockroaches from growing up in the Philippines. And the point in the year where they'd grow wings so they could mate. Honestly, they stopped bothering me after a while. You get used to them. At least the mostly don't bite.

Yep. We're there. These fuckers are airborne.

I can almost deal with ground roaches, because even if I find them gross, they're unlikely to touch me.

Omg the flying ones though. It's been like roach pinball in my house, right at head-height.

I had one fly in my face once. In the evening when I was outside and it was dark. I'm not usually bothered, but that was just gross.
