I never understand what people are expecting from programmes like Supernatural. It's not Shakespeare, it's a commercial TV series. It basically exists to keep us watching between adverts. There are TV series that break new ground and rank as important drama, but Supernatural was never one of them.

(Personally, I find it fun, but that's neither here nor there).

Yeah, really. I'm emotionally invested in it in a way I rarely am in any kind of show (and I'm usually bored to tears by important TV dramas lol), but it's a pretty basic story that's never going to be a masterpiece. People expect to see their personal headcanons and calcified character interpretations on screen at all times, and like to pretend it has an unlimited budget besides. It's a lot more fun to watch if you just accept it for what it is.

True. I don't get the people who watch a low-budget show about two straight guys who hunt monsters and complain about how it's not advancing the LGBQT cause.
