DC and Marvel comics still has an active fandom, though who gets paired with who has changed quite a bit in the past seven years. NOBODY seems to ship Deadpool with Cable anymore, now it's all Spiderman.

I'm just glad that AO3 keeps the movieverse and the comicverse separate. Makes things easier for me.

The Marvel fandom is awesome (but I stick to MCU). But I am really sad about the lack of Superman/Batman fic. It seems like that would be the juggernaut to the DC slash fandom. If it is, I feel terrible for the smaller pairings.

Enh, I'm not much into Bats OR Supes, but I seem to recall still seeing a fair amount of it. These days, I'm mostly interested in the cast from the old JLI days and a few folks associated with them (for example, Jaime Reyes wasn't one of the JLI, but he's the successor to one of them).

There isn't very much, but I've never really been into the behemoth fandoms or ships, so it doesn't bother me very much. The biggest fandom I've ever been into, far as I can tell, is Dangan Ronpa, but my ship is femmeslash and so doesn't get as much love. (Just as well, I get overstimulated and sick of seeing shit quickly.)

huh? there's like 1370 batman/superman fics on AO3 alone; it's actually their top batman ship (there's also a bunch of other batman/superman fics lurking on lj, ffnet, archives, etc). that...doesn't seem lacking to me

It might be that I only read completed fics. So, I see a new fic maybe twice a week. I have gone through all the older ones.

Is it active though? Most of what I find on AO3 is focused on the same characters and most books out don't get a single fic... Even when there are really plot bunny moments.

And I don't find it separate. I have to filter out the movie tags since most stories have both comics and movies tags.

But yeah, I mourn the decline of Cable/Deadpool too.

I must've misremembered. Honestly, I mostly search the old LJ comms, or by characters, and the character tags I search are characters that aren't in the movies. (Just as well, I can only IMAGINE how frustrating it'd be if... I dunno, I only liked comics Deadpool but movie Deadpool owned the tag.)

I don't feel too bad about the passing of Cable/Deadpool, because honestly, Cable has always been really boring to me. But Spiderman/Deadpool does even less for me. I just want friendship fic of him and Agent Preston, but good luck finding that.

Ah LJ comms - any recs for active ones? Or inactive ones that have good tagging?

Yes, it's *very* frustrating. Hence why I nearly gave up on finding fic about any characters who have been in the movies.

Ugh. There is nearly nothing about the current DP book, much less Preston fic. There also seems to be no stories with Shiklah /sigh

Uhhhh, you looking for something/one in specific? Because I've bounced around a LOT of various comms. I'm like a little fic butterfly, grabbing little ficpollen and fluttering upon my gayass way. Plus a couple kink memes.

Seriously, I just want a book about PRESTON. She's great. She's basically the Marvel version of Amanda Waller, which couldn't please me more. I assume Shiklah's Deadpool's demon wife? I admit to not being sold on her (mostly because I just can't imagine wishing Deadpool on ANY spouse) but don't really know enough about her to have an opinion.
