Actually, having seen the stage version way back a long time ago, magic tears is legit.

Narrator: And finally, as for Rapunzel, she bore twins, and lived impoverished in the desert until the day her Prince, wandering aimlessly, heard a voice so familiar that he went towards it. And when he approached, Rapunzel, overjoyed at seeing him, fell into his arms, weeping. Two of her tears wetted his eyes and their touch restored his vision.

I haven't seen the movie but magic tears were one of the original versions of the story.

Never seen the original, but read about the changes. I’m neutral about some, “oh that would have been clearer/more interesting” about others.

I’d have liked Rapunzel’s prince to have stayed blind. As far as I can tell right now, this wasn’t the case in the stage version. I’d have rooted for them more, iand it could even be a factor for his different character.

Why bother with this off all things? Also,magic tears, just roll with it because fairytales!

Magic tears are totally a thing in the original. The good versions make a big damn deal about her crying directly into his eye sockets very intentionally, too, like she *knew* it was gonna work. Usually while kneeling over his nearly dead body and clutching her twins to her breast.

Magic tears FTW, man. xP
