It's not nearly as excuse the pun, widespread, as tumblr would make it out to be. Tumblr SJW are also not really helping or "calling anyone out," they just sneak photos of them to put online and insult which is in fact pretty illegal in a lot of areas.

Whenever I've used public transport, asking politely would get the person to stop whatever it is they were doing to disturb everyone else, be in spreading out or playing music way loud or whatever, 99% of the time. Suggesting that the complainers actually go interact with humans and voice opinions in real life though is probably anxiety-shaming or something smh

It's not so much the pictures as the content that gets posted with them, identifying the person in question and hurling all sorts of insults at them. If you think it's all okay because it's "not an upskirt" then I won't bother to argue further. I simply wouldn't be surprised if someone is hit with a lawsuit someday

Calling someone out for taking up space with their spooky knees sounds so first world probs to me. It's a matter of etiquette, and not some grand injustice because you're too shy to ask someone to make room.

Tbf, bags and legs and whatever other shit does annoy me because it is rude and inconsiderate for other passengers. Because I'm lucky enough to not be outright bothered by touching, but petty enough, I'll spread all over a dude's legs if he spreads all over me to get the message across to keep to their personal space. I am pretty adorable though, so it doesn't always work, but at least my legs are warm for the ride. Again though, it's being annoyed and not some matter of desperation to feel oppressed.
