(Anonymous) 2015-01-31 01:11 am (UTC)(link)But I can't fault the OP. You'd be surprised the stuff you become obsessed with. I don't know how it is with most people, but my life has been a series of obsessions. Something will grab my eye and I'll become obsessed with reading everything I can find on the subject until another interest takes its place. Sometimes I wonder if said obsession ever really goes away. I don't obsess about the last Romanovs as much as I used to, but I'm still fascinated. Looking at pictures of them, looking all innocent in their long white dresses, while knowing the fate that awaits them, you keep wanting scream at them, "Run! Get out of Russia while you still can!"
I'm also fascinated by the Parker-Hulme case. Though I can trace the source of that obsession: the Peter Jackson movie, Heavenly Creatures. I find that case fascinating because, well, you get that when these two girls got together, they created this terrible energy that just steamrolled over everything in their path.
