The FDIC admitted that it's been screwing over legitimate, honest businesses and industries.

Also, Mittens isn't running for Prezzy in 2016. On one hand, I will miss his specific brand of lulz. On the other hand, this opens the door for new lulz to come through.

I'm definitely curious to see who will run. I don't know how to feel about Chris Christie. I want him out of NJ but I do not want him as a president. He is a jerk who has done nothing for this state. I feel like Christie Todd Whitman was the last governor who held New Jersey together.

Really? Bridgegate aside, I was under the impression that ol' Christie was pretty popular in NJ. Y'all elected him twice after all, he gave Congress hell a few times for slowing aid meant for victims of Sandy, and he's been known to reach across the aisle a few times.

I'm still sad that neither Paul Ryan nor John Huntsman will be running. They both had the brains for the job, and Paul Ryan has puppy-eyes and a smokin' body.

His attitude is not good for a world leader at all. He talks shit all the time and hasn't done enough to improve the economy or cut taxes. Specifically the growing property tax problem here.

I also fully support unions and he hates all unions. Yes, I agree they aren't perfect but I know I would not have had the same quality of life if my dad hadn't been a part of a union.

More specifically, he set the limit a school superintendent could be paid at $200,000 (or maybe it was $175,000) well my town just lost its superintendent because he would have had to take a significant pay cut in order to stay with us, so now we're on the hunt for a new one. Again.

So yeah, we elected him twice but I think that has more to do with who was running against him. If he had been up against Cory Booker, I don't think he would have won.

Welp, I'm down for low taxes and for paying people their market worth. How many terms does NJ allow its governors?

I think it's just two terms, so he's up after this anyway.

And yeah, some people would scoff and say $200,000 is a lot of money but it's incredibly difficult to find housing at a reasonable price here. On a $250,000 house, taxes are easily $6,000 a year.

A 3 bedroom house, that still needs a lot of work, is about $300,000. Brand new houses usually start at $500,000.

Thank you for reminding me why I moved South. Good Lord.

You're in SC, right? I think it might have come up before. I debate moving down South constantly but then I remember all of the things I've been able to do that have only happened in NYC in the past few years.

If my parents retire down South, I might just follow them. The job market is a bit more stable up here for skilled positions for my field, so who knows what will happen.

Yup, SC. Lovely state. The joke is that nobody retires and moves up North. :) But, before you retire you have to work, so I can see the need for stable positions.

I went to school in SC so I know a good bit about the state and it has its fair share of problems too. (I'm not too fond of Nikki Haley for how she's handled a lot of USC)

Ah, Nikki, Nikki, Nikki. I think this is her last term too, so we'll have fresh meat soon.

well, given that the superintendent moved on to another position, they're clearly not paying superintendents their market worth

Yeah. I agreed with that.

You may be the first person I have met to confirm what I have long suspected. The GOP nominates "hunks" to win votes from people who are impressed by that.

Yes, that adequately summarizes all our nominees. John McCain is a hottie. So is Mittens. And don't get me started on that hunk Lindsey Graham. Hang on, I need a cold shower.
