Do you mean that you'd either up or lower your dosage of your drugs on your own to see how well they'd work? If so, that's pretty fucking reckless.

I've seen people basically turn into vegetables due to grand mal seizures (I work in an Emergency Room) and I don't think that's what you want.

Nah, I kept my dosage the same, but I exposed myself to light triggers that have been known to set me off into convulsive seizures.

I was pretty confident in my meds, but I needed to see and make sure it wasn't just some bullshit placebo effect. I knew the risks, since a few years back, I ended up in an ER after having my first convulsive episode, partly due to exposure to flickering lights.

But I did establish that a.) the meds were working, and b.) it was actually having measurable, definite impact on stabilizing my seizure threshold, rather than it just being a placebo effect. I didn't have a convulsive episode.

The downside was that I did have a few simple partial seizures later, but hey, small steps.
