For me, that group is in tied position with psychic mediums and people who peddle 'The Secret' bullshit, and tell grieving widows and cancer sufferers that "I can fix all your problems for just six monthly payments of $99.99!"

I like to think there's a special place in hell for those people.

Ugh, mediums. I especially hate John Edward. I have been pissed off at a lot of people in my life, but John Edward (of "Crossing Over with John Edward" fame) is one of the slimiest. If there's anyone who needs to be kicked in the dick on a regular basis, it's that guy. There was even a 9/11 special planned where he would "contact" people who died during the 9/11 attacks to pass on messages to their living relatives, but it was cancelled either because of the outrage or because the network was like "okay, maybe this IS fucked up."

South Park actually made an episode that completely ripped on him once that culminated in John Edward getting abducted by aliens so they could bestow upon him the "Biggest Douche in the Universe" award (you might have heard the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulDke7r0MOQ). All things considered, the episode actually wasn't nearly as mean as it could have been towards him. He's just...the very worst. He even still has a tv show called John Edward Cross Country which is more or less like his first tv show except he's, as the title implies, traveling across the country to inflict his douchebaggery on small groups of people rather than on an entire studio audience at once

You should watch the Leverage episode titled "The Future Job". It not only has a John Edward expy getting his comeuppance, but it has the best explanation/demonstration of cold reading I've ever seen on TV.
