Re: LOS ANGELES
The legendary traffic doesn't bother me that much (unless it's rush hour, I'm on the 405, or I'm at that nasty section where the 101, the 5, and the 10 all split off (the 60, the 5, and the 10 going the other direction) that is only not-backed up at around 10 o'clock at night).
I like the zoo, Santa Monica's Promenade (is that technically a suburb?), LAX (cheaper flights!), and most of all, Little Tokyo.
I've once got lost on my way back north from picking up someone from LAX and wound up in Beverly Hills; I stopped to try and figure out which way to go and got even more and ended up over by Crenshaw and then eventually found my way to the Staples center--this was in pre-GPS days so it was truly terrifying.
Overall, I'd take Los Angeles over San Francisco any day.
Re: LOS ANGELES
I used to work at the LA Zoo! And TBH, if you want cheap flights, Burbank is way better than LAX. And I'm not just saying that because it's much closer to my own neck of the woods.
