The vast majority of people do not care about your religion. It's the extremists who ruin everything for everyone -- like the assholes who decide that they're going to start attacking mosques because they're too stupid to realize that religious zealots don't represent the majority opinion.

I, myself, don't like any religions (which naturally means Islam gets mixed in there). But I have no problem with the vast majority of Muslim people.

You can disagree with someone without hating them. I think the previous thread is an example of people frustrated that criticism of Muslim extremists (the kind who WOULD murder people for drawings of Mohammed) is being conflated with hatred of Muslims as a whole.

Yeah, it's a pretty shitty situation we're all in, isn't it. It would be great if extremists of all kinds would wear a massive 'I am a douche' sign above their heads. :/

Seriously though, I'm not a Muslim and I don't think extremists proclaiming themselves to be 'Muslims' in any way shape or form represent the majority of your religion. I hope that helps in some small, tiny way.

Unfortunately in Muslim countries at least a majority shares extremist views even if they don't necessarily act on it (like supporting death for apostasy).

There are many more where Muslims are an extremely large minority.
