I need to start the actual writing of my thesis and I am terrified, so much that I find it difficult to start.
Partially because I've been getting this paranoia that my advisor doesn't actually think much of me or my ideas, and always criticizes my writing (and sometimes their corrections aren't actually grammatically correct...). I'm just so anxious and it's not helping the situation.

Ooh that sounds rough. I know that kind of paranoia well. And I've had frustrating experiences with corrections being wrong (mostly with the worst class I ever took that was taught by students who didn't know what they were doing instead of the professor).

Maybe it will help if you just keep focusing on why you find your topic interesting. Pretend you're talking about it with someone who is just as interested as you are.

You can always outsource your thesis for a proof read, if you're that nervous. I'm not sure what field you're in, but I was the test audience for a friend of mine getting a masters in structural engineering.
