Re: Where Have You Been All My Life?
Oh, wait, I've also been really into cooking shows lately. My most recent is Cutthroat Kitchen, which is in its 6th season.
While it isn't newly discovered per say because I did read Hobbit and LOTR as a kid, recently has been my first time actually reading Tolkien's other works and exploring the broader Middle Earth world.
Re: Where Have You Been All My Life?
Man, I applaud your ability to read the other Tolkien stuff. I could not get through The Two Towers.
Re: Where Have You Been All My Life?
I'm really into history, which helps with reading Tolkien. The Silmarillion was still hard to get through, but it read like a history textbook in a lot of ways. The Children of Hurin is proving much easier to get through. The Histories are about the same as the Silmarillion.
I will admit that his writing style isn't my favorite. But I love the world so I really want to read it all. Actually, in some ways I like the Silmarillion more than LOTR. There was way too much description in LOTR for my taste. I know what to expect with the Silmarillion, but LOTR at times didn't feel like the epic I wanted it to be because there was just too much.
