Am I the only one who gets freaked out by the thought of large sized things, like huge planets, large dinosaurs, and megafauna/giant-sized prehistoric animals?

Sometimes how large the universe is weirds me out but mostly it just makes me wonder why we concentrate on petty things and why humans act the way they do.

Giant animals are kind of cool to me, I am more freaked out by tiny things that can kill you (because you will never see it coming.)

No. But I am afraid of closed doors and looking thru windows at night.

Interesting. I have a problem with open doors. I always have to close the door behind me when I enter or leave a room.

I just don't like opening doors. I always think something is going to be on the other side.

Maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist. For me closed doors represent endless possibilities for what could be behind them.

I hate having an open door right behind my back. Some asshole I used to work with thought it was funny to grab me from behind. I read him the riot act.

I can't do the windows at night thing either. I've had friends who kept their curtains open or didn't even have them *shudder*

I just know that one day I will look through one and there will be a serial killer. I will die from fright.

I have a fear of deep water. I can't go swimming if the water's too deep and I get nervous on bridges and boats. Just the other day I watched a Let's Play, which involved the player character swimming in the ocean. Haven't been that scared in a while.

Part of is definitely the thought of something big swimming under me.

My phobias are dogs (and I have no childhood trauma related to them; and it only applies IRL; post all the puppy pictures you like, I'm all for it) and losing my glasses (this is common among people who have worn glasses from a VERY young age)

I get freaked out about that sometimes, but I also think they're awesome, so it's more like the kind of freaked out you get when you're watching a good horror movie.

I actually have a weird fear in the other direction, of looking into microscopes. Microscopic pictures are fine. I'm just afraid of looking into the microscope myself, knowing what I'm going to be looking at but not what it'll look like on a microscopic level. It stems from when I was little and had a toy microscope, and looked at a strand of my hair under it. I was so freaked out that it looked like a bar, that it had WIDTH. We returned the microscope to the store after that because I didn't want to be tempted to use it again.

I have the opposite fear.

Small things terrify me to the point I even get nightmares about it. It's a mixture of fear of breaking something and something else that makes fear that small something.

Enh, my phobias isn't that weird. (Weird TRIGGERS now, those I have aplenty.) It's needles and surgery.

Shots are... difficult, but I can handle them. IVs though, oh man, IVs are the WORST. And I will probably never be able to donate blood. The longer the needle is there, the worse it is! (Unless they're tattoo needles, which for some bizarre reason, my hindbrain is totally fine with. Not that I'm complaining, I like my ink.)

Weirdly, I handle pain, getting bashed up, that's not bad. It's having to actively plan to have someone else harm my bodily integrity, even in a minor trivial way. *shudder*

Oh man, this is totally it, but it's piercings instead of tattoos for me. The worst, to me, is when I go in for a check up and they come back with, "By the way, you have 3 boosters due. Let's get those done today! :D" Fuck. No. And I will fight you on this.

Only giant insects scare the crap out of me.

Don't worry, anon. Size can be very intimidating so I don't think being frightened or at least weary of large things is very odd.

I'm absolutely terrified of dead things. Actual dead things, photos of dead things, I freak out. I can't explain why they freak me out, and I have nothing traumatic that would lead to this phobia, I just can't handle dead things :/

That happens to me when I'm really, really tired. Or half asleep, or something. Really big spaces are the worst.

My weird thing when I'm fully awake is perky people, like this woman from a car commercial in my hometown. I used to say I have perkiphobia.

OMG YES!! I have never ever met anyone else who has this! I am terrified of the hulls of ships - sounds fucking ridiculous and most of my friends don't even believe me and think it's a weird affectation, but seeing that giant thing curving into the water absolutely cripples me with dread. Weird phobia high five, anon!

Parrots.

That doesn't scare me, but the more of the ocean or space that I can see at once (from a map or 3D image, being there in person seems to be okay), the more freaked out it makes me. I don't do well with google maps all the way zoomed out.
