Enh, I don't necessarily see why you have to give your feedback at all? I mean, I have lots of writery friends, but I totally understand they may not be comfortable giving me feedback. (And I honestly prefer someone I'm NOT hugely close to to give me feedback; they're harder about it.)

Just saying, "I'm not comfortable giving feedback on your work," would be totally valid for me.
