I'm honestly not trying to make you feel bad, this actually kind of amuses me (if in a depressing way), but I used to ask my friends to read my fics, and they either would and it'd be the best thing they'd ever read, or they wouldn't have had time. I always wondered how often it was just that terrible. In one case I'm pretty sure that was it, I've re-read the fic and it is so bad.

However, polite constructive criticism in place of being ignored would've been better. At least for me, I had friends who you pretty much ass kissed or no kissed. :/

(And yes, I realize there were times people really just didn't have a chance to read my fic. I had the opposite happen, where I really did mean to read XYZ, but I never found time and seriously kept forgetting by the time I had it.)
