Hmm, I hope that wasn't what OP meant, but I just assumed they were saying they would be uncomfortable and awkward in casual clothing (And thus look and feel ridiculous) because they aren't used to wearing them.

I thought this too, I have no idea how people were getting OP sounded snobby. She wants to be comfortable, and her comfort zone is different from some other people's (and really, everyone has a different fashion comfort zone).

I don't think anyone's side-eyeing her for wanting to be comfortable, or that looking nice makes her comfortable, it's the fact that she's implying that people that don't dress like her are "shlubs". It's exactly the same kind of judgment she's receiving, just in reverse, so...yeah, it's a little snobby, and a touch hypocritical.
