I am socially incompetent, IRL and online. I only have one fandom friend. Actually, she’s my only friend, fullstop. She’s really popuar, but she always makes time for me, and she’s brilliant, funny, and lovely. i adore her.

Recently she’s started writing fic.

It is terrible. Beyond awful. Laughably bad. It’s barely comprehensible, the plots are incoherent, the charactgers are OOC, the sex scenes physically impossible. And at the moment, she’s knocking out about 10,000 words per week of it. It doesn’t get many comments, especially not compared with other fics for that pairing.

She keeps asking me to give her feedback but I don’t even know where to start, so I pretend I haven’t had time to read anything yet.

I feel so guilty. She is the only person who I can rely on, but I’m completely letting her down. First by not being honest with her, secondly by letting her keep embarrassing herself by making this dross public, and thirdly because I know if I had even one other friend in the world I would be sharing it with them and saying, “omw, look how hilariously bad this fic is”.

This is why no one else will have me … But seriously, it’s horrific*. Fandom-hint>> [Image: soccer ball]
