Things I've learned about the pill (doesn't really answer your question)

Read whatever instructions come with the pill and if tat doesn't clear it up, then avoid relying on the pill alone for the first month.

Some things I've learned about the pill (thankfully, not the hard way!):

Heat degrades the hormones and makes the pill less effective. Do not keep pill packs in the glove compartment or routinely leave them in a car in summer.

Light has the same effect as heat. That's why the pill packs are opaque. Keep the pills in the provided container and don't leave the container on a windowsill or otherwise out in the sun.

And, of course, some antibiotics can make the pill less effective, so use a backup method if you are prescribed an antibiotic.
