I understand feeling guilty about something you can't control--like finding the fic funny, or terrible. I understand feeling guilty about not knowing how to properly give your friend good feedback on it.

But the send-it-to-another-friend, point-and-laugh? That's not a feeling, that's not an inadequacy. That's a direct action that you would take. THAT makes you look like a jerk. If you *know* that that's wrong, and you would feel guilty over it, then why would you do it? You have the power to say "Hey that's mean and I wouldn't do it." That's something you have every bit of control over.

So the "Of course I feel bad" and "It's fandom secrets!" doesn't really fly on that one.

I just meant that I would want to do that, that I would have the urge to do it, not that I necessarily actually would go through with it. I don't really know if I would do it, I'm not in a position to be able to so I can't judge. Though if I were really that invested in laughing about it with other people, I could just have posted a link to it on an anonymeme somewhere.
