Well, isn't it canonically the case that special pleading is allowed? Like, if you particularly want to be in a specific house, the Sorting Hat will take account of that. So I wouldn't worry about it much; I would just consider it an example of that.

And I understand why you'd want to be in Hufflepuff - I felt and still feel that way myself.

Considering the fact that choice can and will play a part in your Hogwarts house if you do ask, you are a Hufflepuff.

#1 flaw in the Pottermore sorting quiz was that you couldn't choose imo.

I would do the same thing. It's stupid, and I'm a grown adult, but it's still the only house I identify with. Perhaps because it's the one we learn the least about so it's easiest to self-project onto. Ravenclaw for second choice for the same reason.

Did you really cheat? Or did the Sorting Hat read your desire to get into Hufflepuff? You can't lie to the Sorting Hat; it can tell.

I would have cheated to get into Hufflepuff as well. I'm about as much a Gryffindor as Susan Bones.

I always thought I was Slytherin but Pottermore put me in Hufflepuff. I wasn't sorry.

Eh, that's okay, I know the sorting hat took the kids wishes into account anyway. It's just a website.

I have a hard time believing the accuracy of the sorting quiz anyway because I was put into Ravenclaw. (I took the quiz again and got into Hufflepuff which makes more sense.)

I didn't cheat, but I was put in Slytherin, and I am still pretty sure that it was because I was in a particularly bad mood that day. I think my answers would have been different if I had been in a better state of mind.

I'm pretty sure the Sorting Hat cheats as well. People are way too evenly distributed among the houses.

Now worries, I cheat at everything. I mean. I'm Slytherin, so it's expected.

But as other people said, the Sorting Hat takes your choice into consideration. I wouldn't worry about it.

The sorting hat asks some ridiculous questions (heads or tails, really?) so I don't blame you. I made new accounts until I got into my desired house.

If I cheated, it would have been to aim for Hufflepuff too.

I ended up in Slytherin, and I really wasn't expecting that. Of all the houses I already didn't identify with, I got the one I didn't fit according to the books. The welcome letter hit home though, and now I think it makes total sense!

I bet the other house letters would have that same "that's me!" horoscope feel though.

A friend of mine wanted to avoid Slytherin and she tried choosing the answers the least Slytherin-like, but that was apparently very Slytherin of her, in any case she ended up in Slytherin. I welcomed her into the fold, naturally.

I got into Slytherin. It could have counted as cheating because the questions I got were partly fairly obvious as to where they would get you sorted, but since the answers that seemed the most "Slytherin" to me were incidentally also the ones I agreed with the most, I don't really see it as cheating.
