I rather enjoyed Elementary's interpretation of how a person with Holmes' talents of observation and deduction would work in a modern world of information overload. Mostly I like his capacity to be compassionate.

Me too. It's as if the writers on Elementary took a look at BBC Sherlock and went hey, you know what? Let's make our Holmes a guy who's not an asshole to his friends and everyone he comes into contact with.
