I'm completely deaf in my right ear and I use a hearing aid in my left. Hasn't stopped me from being a bit of a music snob.

Hey, we're deaf in our right ear too! It's turned me into a cranky granny who never wants music too loud. (Must protect the one remaining functional cochlea!)
